Troy Barrow aka nusevoice is a Documentary and Fine Art photographer based in New York City.
I always had a passion for and an affinity with Art / Photography. My first career choice out of my teens was graphic design back in my native Barbados, although fate/circumstance led me in other directions, the love for the arts has always been present. Instead, I engaged in a career doing Hospitality Management for many years and when I relocated to New York from Barbados in 2003 I continued on that path. Still, my passion for art persisted and I started dabbling with illustration and design again just for fun, to release my creative energy, some may say.
I am currently a New York Institute of Photography (NYIP) Photojournalism student and an avid street and documentary photographer, focusing mostly on candid photos of people and scenes which make interesting stories.
My photos have been published by and exhibited by the dotART URBAN 2016 Photo Awards where I ranked in the top 100 worldwide contestants who qualified for ranking.
In 2016 my entries in the LensCulture Street Photography Awards placed among the top 20% of all entries of hailing from a record 141 countries around the world!
Two of my images were also chosen and exhibited in 2015 by the #helloicp Installation Project to welcome the International Center of Photography (ICP) to their new dynamic center on the Bowery in New York City.
